I feel as if I have been severely reprimanded for doing exactly what is encouraged in the header - following a discussion that tickled my fancy.

I am indeed a so-far undecided voter, and I will vote. I think this election is very important.

I sought to speak in a cogent, respectful voice, and I think I did.

I did not see one complaint about the subject, or my demeanor, publicly or privately. (I wonder how many complaints you got and why those who complained felt the necessity to do so privately.)

I was pretty shocked to see your red letter post dictating the cessation of political discussions here. It is the people here whose opinions I respect that I desire to hear from. I have no idea what the vantage point of the posters on the other threads you mentioned is and to what extent they are ranting instead of thinking.

I didn't realize that a respectful, concerned exercise of democracy, pertinent to our country's future, was out of line.

I will comply. I apologize.
