I may have the sides of the triangle or pyramid incorrect
If this model is a pyramid, you can't mis-position the 4 points or the 6 sides. If the base is abc and the peak d, you still have a base of abc, and sides of abd, bcd, and acd, and can make any surface the base.
I am not short. My short positions are usually somewhat disguised, either because I do business with the company or I do not believe it fair to act like a 15-year old stock manipulator. I believe in disseminating information and judgment. And creating a written record that I can refer to over time.
If you think value does not enter into the judgment of whether to buy, add, reduce, or sell a stock, you are wrong. Neither management nor company operations (or business model - even if it made sense) is sufficient for me, to indicate that a stock should be bought.
I'll add that webMD is a dumb name and doesn't help their positioning. To correct it, they would have to have their 4th public name. Has there ever been a company so confused about who they are that has ultimately been successful?
Blockbuster Videos made a quick change to Blockbuster Video, and got away with it, even as their logo had an empty space for the "s". But look what happened to Chemdex after it diversified and decided Ventro was better.
BTW, I had the opportunity to invest in the private placement for drkoop.com. They talk a good game, but I think they are likely to run through the $27.5 m. So even after they reduced the price from 50 cents to 35 cents a share (preferred stock, no less, plus warrants, and a short lock-up period), I passed. |
