I did read your other post, Shalom. I just want to say I'm sorry. I never meant my comments to be divisive. I've seen others here question the legitimacy of the faith of others that post. IMO this is not the attitude of Christ.
Now if somebody says something that is blatantly wrong, for instance:
Some in the first century were saying that Jesus didn't come in the flesh, or that the second ressurection had already taken place, or those that follow Jesus needed to be circumised and observe the mosaical law, etc. One needs to be firm, even in love.
Now, I don't think anybody here, professing to be Christ's holds such heretical teachings. (not saying this for just your benefit) Let's all trust the Lord and afford anyone who confesses a belief in Him the opportunity to grow in knowledge and understanding without our judging them -- even if they prove to be unkind at times. I don't personify Christ exactly, yet -- though I believe He dwells in me. Even thoug this is true, I have been unkind at times.
Mercy triumphs over judgement. Love covers a multitude of sins.
As you posted the beatitudes:
Happy (Blessed) are the merciful for they shall receive mercy.
God Bless you today, Shalom Barry |
