Does Bush have a brain, or any assertiveness? This man is running on the claim that he is a leader, and he faded into the wallpaper (figuratively, speaking) in that debate. This is a leader? In whose dictionary? If Lehrer had to tell him one more time to "go ahead" I was going to scream. I do presentations all the time. I watch and critique presentations other people give as part of my job. This was not the performance of a man with stage fright (excusable given the inexperience of the man). This was someone who didn't know what he was talking about, and desparately didn't want to say anything. He never showed up. Heck, Gore knew Bush's proposals better than Bush did. Didn't Bush prepare at all for the debate, or did he expect to get by on his good looks? I expected better. I can excuse the faux pas (it would have made this thread more fun), but the man didn't try. As I've said before, I've come to the inescapable conclusion that Bush is the dimmest bulb on a major Presidential ticket in my lifetime (and I include Quayle in that accounting).
