Sarmad -

<Did any prices go up ?>

Of the 252 desktop samples, 29 drives dropped in price, 13 drives raised in price and 16 drives were newly added to the samples.

IMHO disk drive shortages would be felt in the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers)market first. The OEM's purchase in such larger quantities that the orders may be difficult supply. This could mean actual increases in price that has not hit the retail market yet.

I do not think the price changes in samples this week are the start of a trend. The price reductions were at the very high end of the desktop market and not in the mainstream.

Regards,
Mark
