I saw this article and laughed. So how do you get these "oil sands" to the surface or extract their oil. One way would be to dig a giant open pit that you could see from the moon!!! That sounds really inexpensive and very environmentally friendly. Maybe they have some kind of device a la Jules Verne that will magically suck the sand up a pipe to the surface.

I have noticed a lot of jibberish about the current oil/gas environment. Did anyone notice that Algore has a poor grasp of geography?? During the first Presidential debate he made a reference to seeking reserves in the Gulf of Mexico BUT he specifically referred to the "West Gulf" (of Mexico). I took this to mean that part of the Gulf running along the Mexican coast. U.S. production/exploration is in the Northern Gulf.

Algore and all of these ecoholics need to get together to straighten out their facts. They all sound like a bunch of rejects from Monty Pythons flying circus.

On a more serious note and discussing oil coming from unconventional sources. Southern and Central Pacific are building a multi-billion oil from shale project in North Queensland. Understand that this very long term and technologically complex project is now approaching oil production (with the help of the Canadians. Full commercial (and profitable) production is some years away. I understand that a barrel of oil will be around US$10 to produce. This will be very high grade stuff and should be eagerly sought.
