  - Vermiculite Project Winter Work Program Completed Removal of Timber
Keith Balderson, Director, Richaldn Mines Inc. (the "Company") is pleased to announce that the company's winter work program completed the removal of timber at the Butler Township Properties in the Sudbury Mining District the site of the Vermiculite discovery. Roads have been completed for motor vehicle access from Ontario Highway 533. The Company has now registered and holds 25 claims in the area totalling 1,000 acres. Sampling and metallurgical work completed during the winter held no negative results.
Presently the Company is removing the over burden to expose open pit sites that will be mined during the summer months. This over burden is being used to establish all weather roads. Geographical work is also being carried out to quantify the ore body at surface and select drill targets for proof of depth. Extensive trenching has been completed on the property showing ore to depths of 20 feet.
Vermiculite is an industrial mineral that is removed as a soft flaky mica like substance that requires drying, screening for size and removal of foreign particles, it is then bagged in 1 ton sacks for shipping. Both highway and rail transportations are in close proximity of the property.
Vermiculite acts as an excellent heat insulator, is chemically inert, has high thermal stability, enhances mechanical strength and is free flowing which makes it an excellent ingredient for fillers. The end product is used by numerous industries, paint and wallboard for fire retardant properties, concrete and construction materials to reduce weight and specialty papers to increase temperature resistance. The horticulture and agriculture use vermiculite as a soil replacement.
The Company has determined quality Vermiculite ore is selling at $150 to $250 US per ton delivered to the value added exfoliation plants in the N.E. United States and Eastern Canada.
