I haven't tested Globalstar in urban areas, jungles and forests yeat, because Globalstar current problem seems to be more very limited number of countries, where they have licence and those countries don't match to my destinations (planning to travel India soon again). I believe it will work better, than Irid as the technology have developed since then. And ICO/Teledisc will promise the use even inside room, let's see, how they make it. I believe to some reports, that people have used Globalstar also indoors sucessfully (but still does not work in cellar). As Globalstar is using digital signal (Irid was analog) to three separate satellite, digital signals will have always same quality and hopefully some of those satellites will recieve it. If two, then it can be compensated. I hope Globastar to work inside room near windows, which means, that it will work on those places also.
Inmarsat will have more problems, as it's only four GEO orbit satellites. But for maritime, it goes.
