Note to self: Saw on TV news this weekend, where the union voted (86%) to accept the latest company offer at Sydney Steel (SYSCO). This should open the way to some serious NAR upside from these levels, Chevy?

While we know that the tidewater location of Maitland and it's environs does not really need SYSCO, the jobs for Nova Scotian displaced with the closing of the Cape Breton coal mines could represent a significant boost to the local economy.

And if you believe in political timing follow me on this one (very carefully) Frank. The lob had just been tossed. Bernie Boudreau, ex of the NS provincial liberal party, is giving up a plum senate position to champion the Federal Liberal recapturing of the 11 Nova Scotia seats lost in the last Federal election.

Now Frank pay attention, the provincial liberals were quite close to this deal before the conservatives came into power in Nova Scotia in the last election. My point being, there are significant (political) brownie points to be had with the well time announcement of "mine" status of the Shubie deposit. Present talking heads forecasts the coming federal election for mid-November, especially, with the opposition so splintered and with their leaders so sadly lacking in experience.

I saw in the same news paper article where ex-New Brunswick premier Frank (hence the Frank above) McKenna will figure heavily in backroom campaign activities. Remember, New Brunswick is just across the Bay of Fundy where there is a $350 mln facility, easily accessible and capable of doing some beneficiation of the feed stock in preparation for shipment to a smelter of your choice.
