Yes, do all the research, etc., but what leads one to wake up one day and say, "I'm going to buy some now." This is what I have always wanted to know about investors who buy on fundamentals, since it's never an all or nothing kind of decision. What is the trigger to pick up the phone or to click the mouse?

As for AOL, well, all I can say is that the reactions tell me a lot. For example, when all the longs believe that 100% of the risk is in missing profits to the upside, OR when all the shorts believe that 100% of the risk is in missing profits to the downside, it's always some sort of sign that things are getting a little overdone. A trader heeds his own judgement, regardless of the "heat" of others. That's how traders earn their money ;-)
