Paul, I wonder if Dell can get the pipeline filled with AMD in time for Christmas?
A lot depends on the mobo makers. As far as I know Dell takes a unique shaped mobo. Of course if this was put in place a while ago when the magnitude of the P-4 problem became known then the first mobo are being tested right now.
All the other parts are standard so this will be the only problem as far as I can see, except, of course, does AMD have enough parts to fill a line or more of Dell's production. dell of course may have a few black projects on the drawing boards that involved testing and qualification of AMD parts for months now, just as part of strategic planning so they may have qualified AMD from A to Z already.
Great shot in the arm for both companies if true.
