RS.. <<n its farewell press release last March Iridium spoke of being licensed in 160 countries....a great accomplishment,>>

I guess while we are splitting hairs I should mention that the farewell press release mentioned that OVER 160 countries were licensed.

motorola.com

With 192 recognized countries, minus the seven "rogue countries". That leaves 185.

Given your list of (Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Poland, Hungary and some others in E. Europe, plus most of the Caribbean) and South Africa, Jamacia, etc..

Since most of these in the Caribbean already have complete GSM cellular service, and we know that the E. European, and W. European Countries have "very good" GSM coverage. Then I would say that they had the "key" markets covered.

I don't think the twenty-some countries not licensed, really was a liability!
