Sam,

I suspect that, looking back, the last week and possibly the next couple days will turn out to have been an ideal time to write PUTs.

I no longer write PUTs unless I'm willing to take assignment the day after the PUT is written for all contracts outstanding regardless of how far out of the money some contracts might be. Under my self control rules, I can't write any more before November expiration - by which time it will be far too late to take advantage of the opportunity currently presented.

Depending upon what companies are in the basket, the contract that you're talking about writing sounds quite attractive. I'd also look at what similar contracts for individual leaders might fetch if I were interested in Leaps. I tend to work with shorter duration options - it gives me more repair choices if I'm wrong.

Ian
