Here's a rather sad commentary on Apple, written since the pre earnings warning. I say it's sad, not because of the negative spin Michael S. Malone, the author, places on his writings, but because he uses solely his stated experience and knowledge as the lubricant for us to digest his comments, without giving us anything more.

Granted, the man has experience. He wrote the entire history of Apple Computer up to the return of Steve Jobs which was published as Infinite Loop. He should know his subject. He even professes to use a Mac. However, after reading this entire piece, I was struck by the fact that he never actually said anything. Sure he exposed his feelings and opinions concerning Steve Jobs and how the man executes his title as CEO. But in doing so, he paints a colored image of a company, Apple, responsible for sending the entire consumer computer industry into the backwater; quite a stretch for just missing the numbers for one quarter.

If only there were some substance to go with the vituperation.
