Hey, Yoda...I went up to the site where LVLT ripped through this friend of mine's place and picked up some of their trash. It's not hard to find LVLT's droppings at every install/insertion/jointing site as a norm. I knew I'd find some sawed off conduit, so I hunted until I found some. Guess what? I took it back to my place and hit the 4" piece repeatedly with a 20 lb sledge...and it didn't break...bent it good, but it didn't break. Now I wonder if that batch of conduit that caved in North of my friend's place was just a bad batch or what happened to the install that they had to go back and redo it??? And how many bad batches did they install that they've had to redo? Haven't seen any "failure" or "redo" notations in any company press releases, have you? Wonder what expense item account number all that equipment wear and tear, wasted human-hours, extraction costs et al. If shareholders could get at that number, they could see for themselves if this failure thing is a hidden cost-overrun that would impact future earnings or a low-occurance probability... Just thought I'd share this little anecdote. Looks like "flimsy and brittle" was a little hyperbole there...sorry 'bout that... Have a good week, Obi-yuan. PS...do you chart JDSU?
