Michael, this isn't complicated. Bush, who is less than forthcoming given that he won't discuss his life pre-age 40, and Gore, who is, as you say, a limousine liberal, both, in my view, are terrible candidates. Neither one is the one who'd I prefer.

However, of the two, Gore would do the least harm to our nation, to our people and is the one most likely to foster better international relations, Third World included.

I further think Gore understands the important issue of technology better than does Bush. And the difference is significant. Understanding technology, at this juncture of our society's evolution, is critical, and has become a qualification I think necessary for an American president.

Based on the fact that Bush got where he is today only on the strength of his money and fame connections, and since he's surrounded himself with henchmen--propagators of the "Gore liar" smear campaign--I'm inclined to believe Gore is more genuine for our citizenry.

Incidentally, I don't consider metaphorical and allegorical communications as "lies," especially when such, out of necessity, is compared a long and distinguished career as a public servant. Gore's record against Bush's is like the differences between the major league and minor leagues.

Also noteworthy is the clear fact that Gore is perfectly capable of thinking for himself; whereas Bush has demonstrated he is not.

The presidential candidacy of George W. Bush, in Year 2000, in my view, is a set-up. He won his nomination on the strength of large money (100 million-plus) and strongbag establishment connections. Nothing else!

Few would question that John McCain was the better and more deserving Republican candidate. Although he resoundingly competed against Bush, McCain couldn't compete against the forces supporting Bush, most of whom were locked in well before the primaries gained steam.

Finally, Bush is in touch with very few Americans. There's many, many more he'll never understand and who'll never understand him. You can't put examples of the diversity of America on a convention stage and then claim you're in tune; when you're not. That's what Bush did!

Gore will be for the many; Bush for the few. It's really that simple.
