Welcome to the casino

Every time I hear the word "investors" related to this market, I have to laugh, Tom. We have here nothing less than a casino. With the steep decline in Rambus today, I am categorically concluding that it is a BAD casino. Real bad.

The bottom line these days is that Qualcomm is the only safe stock to own. With its putrid PE, it can't be taken down much. The volatility and ludicrous PE's make every single move in this market treacherous.

I remember when Jim and I were talking about determining a "safe" stock on which to write covered calls, rather than do so on a stock with hefty premiums. We discussed GE and INTC. Well I guess, INTC turned out not to be safe. When the "generals" get severely whacked the market officially becomes a casino.

The volatility is making it impossible to "invest." Certainly not in tech stocks. With INTC's mauling, there is no so-called safety. It's even gambling trying to find that good old "entry" into a stock. I remember when I seriously entered Qualcomm last fall. It got taken down 20% immediately.
