<<who the hell knows what uses there will be for chips in 2003?>>

All the growth estimates do not include all the new apps and stuff that will be invented and implemented in the next 2 years.

EXACTLY! I just didn't want to be the first to say it and get branded again. 8)

I just got a $100 refurbished DVD. I wanted to wait until they had cheap Digital Recorders that you don't have to subscribe to a service for, but couldn't pass up $100... as that is "throw away" money when new technology obsoletes it. I know many are still waiting for Digital Recorders. I wonder if there are many chips in these or should we just buy Hard Drive companies? I imagine IBM's little micro drive in a fancy Sony Cam would be a hot product for about $2K!

Anyway, I wonder how many chips and fast memories will be used when high school kids start to do video reports and will want faster computers to edit home videos? Right now, many will want more memory and a faster video card to edit still pictures. Probably still a ways off, but it only takes one new idea to take hold and more chips will be needed.

Also... if these guys were so good at forecasting demand, then why did the market go into the toilet in the fall of 1988? SOME of us added to our positions back then as we knew the demand was not going to vanish, but it sure looked like the experts thought all was not well.
