I find this latest twist in the Korean WCDMA-CDMA2000 saga a huge slap in Q's face.
To think that the carrier who goes with CDMA2000 is getting stuck with the proverbial boobie prize and must be compensated is mind boggeling.
What is the attraction to WCDMA, it can't be the technology, and the roaming issue isn't it since IJ stated that the net will soon make that a non issue.
The only thing I can think of is It must be i-mode. All the carriers must want to be i-mode compatible at any cost. And when you really think about it, you can't blame the carriers for wanting so. Look at the success of i-mode with inferior technology compared to everyone else's wireless internet programs with superior technology.
It's the i-mode stupid.
Any other opinions?
