John & thread, re:Splinter's added responsibility

Splinter adds responsibility for the successful ramp of key high-performance products. This includes the ramp of the Intel® Pentium® III processor to higher performance, along with its conversion to the company's new 0.13-micron manufacturing process next year, and accelerating the ramp of Intel's upcoming Pentium® 4 processor, planned for introduction later this year

What is your take on this? My experience with Mike Splinter is that he is a "get it done" kind of guy, but my data points are years old. Does this bode well? Will the move enhance Intel's focus on the core business? Will Intel get back to excellence in execution?

Greg
