Does GPRS or EDGE allow an increase in VOICE capacity?

I may be mistaken, but aren't GPRS and EDGE data-only? I guess they could handle voice if it was done via VoIP, but I don't believe GPRS and EDGE do anything as far as traditional voice-capacity is concerned. In fact, as data competes with voice within the current spectrum it may reduce effective voice capacity.

Please correct me if I am mistaken.
