Keith: Perhaps the interest in i mode has to do with the ease of internet connection. So even though the speed is slow, it is a relatively smooth standard connection.

What is puzzling though is that CDMA / HDR uses standard internet protocols for connection.

Why is there an apparent preference for i mode, if there is?

Is it that i mode permits bypassing WAP?

But CDMA / HDR (1xEV) can bypass WAP, no?

Curious.

Best.
