william, look at this amzn chart...

finance.yahoo.com

a brief glance shows that bewteen ipo and late 1998 that approximately 3 mil shares traded / day at an avg price around $18.

another brief glance show that since that time through the present, the avg daily volume is about 9 million and the avg buy price is over $60 (my guesstimate is $65).

the stock is 30. many more shares were bought at an avg $60+ and are down $30 a share than were bought at $18 and are up $12. more shares. bigger loss. more time. now what don't you understand?

as i said, the avg amzn investor has lost their butt. you say impossible, amzn has created wrealth. i say, expand your horizon beyon bezos and amzn insiders. the avg retail investor has their butt on a platter and it ain't pretty.
