Look again at my post and then at the p.9 photo:

My post clearly states the significance is that "direct injection" is on the SAME nameplate as Vortec (this is exactly why I also capitalized it in my original post). This is why OE needed "permission". Because they had somebody cast that piece using a trademark that didn't belong to them. Or better yet, GM cast it for them! But on the "Ford" engine, the part with "Ford" on it is an entirely different part than the part OE substituted with "OCP Direct Injection". OE had a new valve cover fabricated, and are using it to market their products, but it doesn't have someone else's trademarked logo on it. GM granted OE permission in some shape or form to use one of their very important trademarks that's now being used to market OE's products. It is significant.

Wasn't my mention of the importance of the Delphi deal timely? I got lucky.

Dr. Mike and Dwight, you both replied with very well written messages (thanks, I thought this board had about died). I will try to address those later tonight, tomorrow at the latest.
