I don't think comparing the types of regulations on guns to cars or pools or pitbulls or hot air balloons is really germane. I was trying to illustrate the concept of regulation being with us everywhere, not the details. But I did get your point.

Perhaps all the regulations on gun control are not logical, (I am surely not an expert); are you saying that because there are so many, it negates the either the need or the rightness of regulation or are you merely saying that in a compromise, some of these regs will need to be re-examined?

Personally, though, I rather doubt the Founding Fathers foresaw assault weapons in the hands of a citizenry who no longer really has a militia like theirs.
