Jim-- I was/am under the impression that there is about as much oil in the Central Asian nations (kazak, uzbek, etc.) as was in the Middle East as of one hundred years ago. How much time and money is being invested in getting operations going there? I was/am also under the impression that there is something like 100-150 years of not-difficult-to-extract oil left in the ground. Is this really a problem of not enough oil? Is it not OPEC pulling the trigger a little too fast and being overly conservative in release policies after the $10 per barrel prices of just a couple of years ago? Aren't they more loving today than they were in the 70s?
