Auric, I read the lehman reports and they are bullish on the next gen equipment makers. Punk? right. You are the most ignorant, obnoxious person on SI. It is hilarious that you have a reputation as being the one late to the party in nearly every decline.

Why don't you go look at the last 30 yeears of cyclical telco buildouts. In every case, ROI has declined for the spenders until the networks are finished and applications are deployed. In every case, spending continued at a steady pace (not 30% growth like this year) while revenue recognition increased. Oh, and since the CLEC revenue growth is expected to outpace the ILECs and IXCs 3X, you can be sure that funding will continue for the industry leaders. Here is another fact that you might want to know. CLECs account for only 13-14% of total capital spending. Gee, that should kill the industry if even 10% of 14% of the spending dried up....

The fact is that the core of the network is healthy, but there is not metro access and last mile access to this core. Why don't you use the last remaining braincell that you must have stored somewhere and explain to me what use the core is without access? Estimates for spending for next year exceed 105 billion dollars.

fool.
