I forgot - I will probably need one or more servers for my thin clients. Just a $100 web-server that I can access from both at home and from the internet would be fine, connected to my freezer (checking the temperature), connected to the lighting, TV, coffee machine etc. Microsoft has two products for that market: Windows CE and NT Embedded. NT Embedded is almost non-existing in that market, and Windows CE doesn't do multitasking well. I mean, how many Windows CE web-servers have you visitied recently?!?

Windows 2000 Server is horribly expensive and will never make it into a $100 device. As far as I see, there is only one relevant OS for this market. You guessed it. Linux.
