It¡¯s reported that Shenzhen Telecom will offer CDMA service in October 1, 2000. Its network, based on ZTE¡¯s 1900 CDMA solution, will offer customers mobile service in Yantian District in the first phase. The carrier began to install the CDMA network in September 12, 2000, and finished installation and test before September 25. This is the first commercial CDMA network constructed with local manufactured devices in China. Besides, the carrier installed a CDMA BSS near China Hi-Tech Fair center to alleviate communication congestion. Before that, ZTE had installed and run an 800-MHz CDMA test office in Nanjing, which is part of Nanjing MAN (metropolitan area network) operated by China Unicom zhongxing.com.
