More LU/AV tax stuff ... I agree w/jarhead

I was thinking of doing just that. I sold my AV on the day it was issued; I'm going to call the proceeds a taxible LU dividend distribution with a cost-basis of zero, thus not impacting my LU cost basis - I would think the IRS would have no issue with this. May not be tax optimal for me, but with the amount it's not worth all of the LU cost basis back book keeping.
