No disagreement there...

But the ability of the people to defend themselves is inherently logical from the perspective of truly educated people.

If people have to rely on government to defend them, then they are vulnerable to that protection being granted, or witheld arbitrarily by those in power.

Btw, I'm also VERY BIG on mandatory education before being permitted to carry a firearm, including the physical usage of it, as well as training people to be aware of when they can, or cannot, use one in self-defence.

It follows the logic of maintain a "prepared militia".
