I never argue for a complete absence of gun regulations. Guns are dangerous items by their very nature.

However, in the USA I would like to see an express, codified civil RKBA (right to keep and bear arms) respected as the cornerstone from which gun regulations are developed. If we can get the courts to accept that there is a basic right to own and use firearms, I'd be much more relaxed in my attitude toward incremental regulation of firearm ownership and use. I, for one, strongly believe that the improper drawing of a gun, loaded or not, should be treated as felonious assault with a deadly weapon.

But the trend has been toward stripping the citizen of gun rights.

I do not know of a single instance in which a civil gun right or privilege, once removed or infringed upon, has been restored.

ALL of us, pro or anti, should ponder that.
