100cfm, What is China waiting for?

Isn’t that convergence of standards meeting occurring later this month? (Like 10/25/00 or thereabouts.)

Ben Garrett posted this earlier this month and the possibility of LAS CDMA converging with 1x (HDR) standards which has been proposed yet not finalized. (Seemed like a brilliant strategic move to me)

PNTR being signed today by Clinton

Zho Rongji ( Prime Minister of China) meeting with Kim Dae- Jung (President of Korea) 10/20 – 10/21

Gee, IMHO in would be politically incorrect for China to expect convergence of Sino – American technology to progress without a commitment from their chief of state that they are firmly in the game. Therefore, I would expect “significant news” to occur prior to 10/25.

But what exactly are we waiting for?

1. A commitment from the prime minister?
2. Licensure from China to do CDMA business granted to operators, infrastructure builders, handset manufacturers?
3. Licenses to manufacture infrastructure, ASICS, handsets from Q?
4. An order for infrastructure?
5. A CDMA roll out plan with timeline?

Personally, I vote for all of the above, sooner rather than later. Yet, I would appreciate commentary from knowledgeable posters.

Regards,
marketing
