I agree. Stopping loss at a given percentage is not a sound practice. Remember that lost opportunities are every bit as much of a loss as a numerical one. A sudden drop in stock price should serve as a warning bell to re-evaluate the fundamentals. I had to do this with both CUBE and DISH lately (Hi Fred!). I am reluctant to state my course of action because I would rather everybody do their own research. Just my 2 cents ...
