Hi Brian, I do not know of other funds trading below cash. However, investors are correctly assuming that the cash will be invested in other VC deals and that they will never get their hands on the pre-investment cash kitty. The low stock price reflects the fact that this company is the first vehicle of its kind and has no track record. Only time will tell whether these are good managers of a VC fund (and if they are, faithful investors today get a discount). The market's punishment of MVC may not be inappropriate if the market believes that MVCs investments are overvalued or if they believe that the NASDAQ bloodshed and/or closed IPO window push out the expected timeframe for liquidity events for successful companies.
