Concurrent to Demonstrate Industry-Leading End-to-End VOD Solution at the Western Cable Show
ATLANTA, Oct 10, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Concurrent Computer Corporation (Nasdaq:CCUR), the market leader in Video-On-Demand (VOD) commercial deployments, announced today its plans for the upcoming Western Show, beginning Nov. 28 in Los Angeles, Ca., Exhibit 945.
At the show, Concurrent with unveil its new MediaHawk(TM) 2000 Video Server, which will offer cable operators improved performance, size, and value. Concurrent will also demonstrate its leading end-to-end MediaHawk VOD solution on digital platforms from both Scientific-Atlanta and Motorola.
The VOD solution, developed in partnership with PRASARA Technologies, features the new MediaHawk 2000 Video Server and MediaHawk BackOffice Business Management System, which provide cable operators all the tools necessary to run their VOD business from end-to-end. The MediaHawk BackOffice Business Management System includes a complete business management system for managing content, subscriber demographic information, transaction and usage analysis, billing, and order fulfillment.
Other demonstrations at the Western Cable Show will include Concurrent's Personal Video Channel featuring time-shifted broadcast content; Concurrent's subscription VOD; Intranet Video Service (IP Streaming) demonstrating how Concurrent's MediaHawk streams video to the PC for IP applications such as distance learning and corporate training; and streaming video over DSL (digital subscriber line) technology.
Concurrent is leading the VOD industry in system-wide deployments.
