Ocean Power Ships First Stirling Test Unit to Statoil
EL DORADO HILLS, Calif., Oct 10, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- On Friday Oct. 6, 2000, Sigma, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ocean Power Corp., shipped the first Stirling engine test container for installation at the test site at Mongstad on the west coast of Norway.
After installation at the test site, operated by the oil company Statoil, the planned verification test will be started with natural gas as fuel.
This test program is the latter part of a 3-4 year co-operation project between Sigma, Statoil and SND (the Norwegian Governmental Development Fund).
