The "minority interest" line item on the P&L represents the allocation of pretax income that "goes" to the minority owners of certain litho partnerships that PMSI also has ownership in. When PMSI acquired Litho, Inc. last year they were actually purchasing a majority stake in what really amounted to a bundle of litho partnerships. The minority partners in these parntnerships are uro docs. PMSI consolidates the operating numbers on their
balance sheet from all the partnerships and then allocates to the minority docs their piece of the action in the form of minority interest.
