LU's problems are that they didn't anticipate the fiber optics revolution. As a result, they're behind with their technology.

Until they're able to leapfrog ALA, NT and CSCO, they're likely to continue having company specific problems.

That said, the street is throwing out the whole maternity ward with LU's bath water. JDSU is down, AMCC is down, CSCO is down, SDLI is down, NT is down, GLW is down, etc.

In fact all the companies that are kicking LU's butt as well as all the companies supplying the fiber optics revolution are getting trashed in afterhours though there seems to be some support coming in for everything but LU.
