Buzz,

I thought your comments were very germane.

Then the braintrust at these brokerage firms put out their "downgrades" [read: time for their real good clients to buy] AFTER the stock has already been clipped 50%. Who do they think they are kidding? Obviously, lots of people, or "pigs" as they affectionately call those about to be slaughtered. It's a crime.

We are in a very peculiar environment here, perhaps a significant
transition period where "the little guys" really do matter?
Did everyone see these press releases today?

Altera clarifies that no new information has been released...

Xilinx, in a swift, almost reflexive move, pre-announces earnings and confirms prior guidance...

Obviously, these two press releases were created to help neutralize the downgrades from this a.m. They also serve to calm the nerves of retail investors who suddenly feel like they are totally "out of the loop" regarding the company prospects. I think ALTR and XLNX management are equally perplexed by the market treatment of their companies.

Seems like nobody is really happy with their haircuts.

I also read today that SSTI retracted its secondary.
Perhaps it wasn't a very sound idea in the first place?
