Isn't this doting talk of militias lovely. A reactionary mentality has nothing good for us short term (or long term, IMO). What is the state of mind that drives people to start doing drills and preparing for invasion? There is no basis for this in reality. Ruby Ridge and Branch Davidians were anomalies, yet these wacko groups are held up by extreme gun nuts as examples of government gone crazy and a justification for preparation for stormtroopin' government. Just weird. IMO, it is government inexperienced at handling bands of armed loonies. Both of these groups were acting illegally on many levels and rejected negotiated settlement opportunities that most armed criminals would envy. That people think that this is the state of preparedness that a well-established, stable, democratic republic like the U.S. needs at this time in its evolution is a bit unnerving.
