Hi David,
Thanks for your response to my post. I don't have many long term positions anymore- I've sold them off over the last year. Not quickly enough to preserve much of my gains, but I do have some trading positions. It's not so much that I need a rally in the fourth quarter, but that we typically get one, and that historically this bottoming out in October presents a great buying opportunity. It just seemed that many on this thread were celebrating the demise of the markets without commenting that the sell-off was/is seasonal and predictable, and I was questioning that. If many here do believe the traditional market cycles will hold up, then I should be reading posts on this thread about buying calls pretty soon. Many here seem to be excellent market timers in both directions- what do you think?
