When you don't make money, what do you do? Service Merchandise cut store expenses. But their revenue can no longer improve. Cost cutting reduced personnel to a minimum; every thing in the store can not improve due to remodeling or lack of thinking and doing with fewer hands. On the other hand, in business, the first thing any good management will do is cut the overhead. Service Merchandise has yet to do that. So, the overhead at the headquarters showed consistent $32 million each month. The top heaviness is what the losses are. Stockholders are going to be eliminated, so management has no one to report to any more, they are running wild. Sad events continue.
