I don't think we should underestimate the significance of DDRII. Adding an SRAM cache will make a big impact on latency (and therefore performance.) It allows page hits to occur faster, and just as significant, it allows you to precharge all banks, which produces power savings and further latency improvements on page misses.

The fact that Rambus has not adopted this technology indicates to me that they do not understand many basic things about computers. (As if that wasn't already obvious.)

I hope that JEDEC/Ramtron patents this technology and shuts their unpleasant competitor out.
