hands-over-fist may not be a informational characterisation, but what I meant was much, much better than cash. afterall, there have been many years of double digit %-age increases in the major averages.

many of the people I know (characterized on many threads here as J6P), have held thru all the dips (10/98, etc), large and small. I think if they are smart, once the market dips below the PRIOR years low, they should cash out. so they miss out on a couple years of gains. most of them got in long enough ago that they still made much more than in cash.

again, I'm not saying LTB+H is the way to go, but the permaBEARS have missed out on quite a run.
someday I'm sure they'll be right, but the trend is still up until it isn't :-)
