JJ's call...

Remember 1989 when "we" had a "Bay Bridge Series"?

We (people in the San Francisco Bay Area) had a good Earthquake on one of the game days.

This year, when the Giants and A's were contenders again, there was talk all over about getting ready for another Earthquake should they both make the Series.

I would say JJ is as good a predictor for the market as was the Giants and A's were for predicting Earthquakes. Chance has more to do with it than anything.

Key I think we missed.

->Slowing demand for Cell phones and we jumped to believe the excuses of the Cell Phone makers companies gave. The trick would have been to see if we could get fab space on fabs that WERE booked by the cell phone makers.

This was one of the big drivers to replace PCs as main consumer or semiconductors. Now when it looks like BOTH will see slower growth, too late.

Then again, perhaps the cell phone maker exec's were right and they really are waiting to get newer phones with better features?

I dropped by a Verizon store yesterday and they had plenty of clerks working and we had to wait to talk to one. This was at 1:30PM and there was plenty of demand. I wonder how busy these places are on weekends and evenings?
