That is very funny to me. I think the average investor in the stock market looses money precisely because of that attitude. To make gains that beat Treasury bills it is really quite easy. Over 100 year history the market has done so on average. Simply picking good companies with a number of different fundamental valuation techniques. weather that is growth or value. and Dollar or Value cost averaging is the way to invest. You are not going to get rich overnight but you will outperform treasury bills, and in the long run traders.
The last part about traders is IMHO. The previous comes from guys with proven track records like Buffet and Lynch
