MomentuMonkey Indicator still SELL. Weakness in the stock market makes Bush the stronger candidate. He can point to the folly of the Clinton administration for creating a bubble that is now bursting. On the other hand, a market recovery would favor Gore as he could say the Democrates handed the nation the longest economic recovery in history. Bush's social security program would infuse a huge amount of capital into stocks. Index funds or their surregates could explode. With the Middle East leaders playing American politics, I would expect oil prices to stay high until after the election, and I would expect the stock market to continue to slide (perhaps crash) in the next few pre-election weeks. That should set up a Bush victory at a major stock market bottom. A great start for the GOP!
