It's probably a safe bet that a large percentage of the people they "fooled" are millionaires many times over by now.

You were talking about percentages of the people fooled! The people that have a cost basis of $5 csco make up a very small percentage of csco shareholders. At the end of this bear market I bet that only a small percentage of CSCO shareholders walk away with profit. The majority of investors will lose. It may not look that way now but this bear market has a long way to go.

The large shareholders have a low cost basis. They will take profits the hole way down. They make up a small percentage of shareholders. The majority of shareholders have a higher cost basis and will ride csco into a loss and most likely look to average down as it continues to slide over the coming years.

P.S. look at LU...second most widely held stock in the U.S. What percentage of LU shareholders are still in the green. Has LU even bottomed? What if their earnings continue to erode? Where is the bottom?
