Perhaps there's no great need for people to upgrade PC's, but what they WILL upgrade is their modem -- to high-speed DSL or cable. They'll also want their PC to interconnect with other devices, such as digital cameras. Maybe PC chips won't be in as much demand, but chips are being used in many more products than PCs.
